Cheque exchange with Rotary Club of Wrington Vale

17th Jan 2019 - Monies raised for local Young Carers...

From October to December 2018, the Rotary Club of Wrington Vale has been one of Tout’s Budgens of Langford’s chosen charities for its ‘Love Local’ token campaign. Customers choose which cause they would like to support with their bright pink Lovel Local token, and as a result we have been able to donate £56.63 to the Rotary Club of Wrington Vale.

The club has been serving local North Somerset communities in Banwell, Congresbury, Wrington, Churchill, Winscombe, Shipham, Sandford, Blagdon, Axbridge and surrounding areas for over 40 years. As well as contributing to local communities, the Rotary Club offers friendship, camaraderie and fellowship, always encouraging new members to join in.

Wrington Vale is one of the 32,000 clubs throughout the world, and this year, Wrington Vale’s theme is "Be The Inspiration" with particular emphasis on working with local communities and collaborating with other groups and organisations on projects where they can make a valid and useful contribution.

The club aims to continue to develop our long-established relationship with prominent local businesses, and to strengthen links with all the local primary and secondary schools in their area through their school liaison officers and the various young people activities the club promotes - including Rotary's popular Youth Speaks, Young Musician and Young Chef competitions. In particular the money received from the Tout’s Budgens Love Local campaign will contribute to the Young Carers weekend away that the Club organises for local young carers every year.

Throughout the year through our bright pink Lovel Local token scheme we give back to the organisations that are within our community. We believe it’s important we support the right people, so what better way to do this than allow our customers to choose the charities they wish to support.
