This yeast-free recipe requires little kneading or proving so is great for a quick loaf.
Pre-heat oven 200C/180C/Gas 6. Put all the ingredients in a bowl apart from the buttermilk.
- Make a well in the middle and add in the buttermilk, use a fork to combine. If dry add a splash of milk.
- Briefly turn out the dough and knead for 2 minutes.
- Place on a baking sheet on a baking tray. Put a cross on the top and bake in the oven for 30 minutes until it sounds hollow when tapped.
- Cool on a wire rack.
